I have a nice set of chrome wheels and I leave mine on through the winter, but once a week I put the truck on jackstands and take all the wheels off. I usually atleast wipe them off every one to two days.

I clean them up really good with chrome polish and a powerball, make sure you get everything though or it will eat it away.

Those chrome wheels are not going to like the road salt. I'd bite the bullet and pick up two
cheap snow tires to get you threw. Winterforce tires are cheap or maybe these Hankooks.
