2001 Ram 1500 stalling when coming to a stop.
Hi guys
(I'm new at this so hopefully I am posting this right)
Bought a 2001 Ram 1500 4wd quad cab last week (2/17/09) and it has stalled twice while coming to a stop sign and while switching from reverse to D. After some internet research and finding this forum, it seems as though this has happened to many folks but no solutions have been posted. Has anyone else dealt with this? Found a solution? Hard to recreate the problem and want to go to the mechanic with some ideas.
Thanks! Kim

Had the same problem. It was a vaccum leak for me. Do you also have "wild vents" (do a quick search for that one)? We replaced the check valve and it helped. Did it again the other day in traffic. Mechinic and I think it's the IAC, but he's also said I should have the throttle body cleaned as well.
We just had a similar problem fixed here ... battery wouldn't hold a charge. Could be that or a sticky IAC or a vacuum leak. The leak will cause it to stumble and stall while both the battery and IAC will cause it to die while trying to idle.
