Before you go tearing things apart you need to check a few other things. You said it sticks out so you have an alignment issue. When you turn hard it is hard to turn the wheel. If your alignment is bad enough, the tire at full lock could be dragging or rubbing on a control arm or other component. I would check that before you start tearing the whole front apart replacing expensive parts for no reason.
