So I had an epiphany today. The 7105 wheel that I want (see post 26 in this thread) but Pro Comp no longer makes is actually the same as the 7005 wheel, only with the lip is machined to remove the powdercoat. I realized that I can just buy the 7005 (which I just confirmed they still make and I can get a set in just a few weeks), and sand off the powdercoating myself on that lip, and have the same wheel as the 7105. Duh!

Anyone see any issues with doing this?

Should I get 17x8 with 4.50" backspacing, or 17x9 with 4.75" backspacing. I'm leaning toward the 17x9, less stress on the hubs due to the less backspacing, plus the wider rims probably suite my 35's better.

Always go with less stress on the hubs, our one piece bearing/hub assemblies aren't cheap!

Sanding with a medium grit sand paper (like 120-160) and then moving to like a 400 grit should give you a heck of a shine.

I haven't settled on them 100%, that's why I haven't placed any orders yet. The other set I like are the 7189's (see pic below). But i've seen the 7189's installed on another Ram, and they looked like they were some stock plain jane wheel that someone painted flat black. They didn't look very good.

Here's a few pictures of the 7105 on a few other vehicles (sorry, no Rams).
