1999 silverado 4x4 ext cab , auto... turn the wheel to the left or right get a banging sound , now this happens when truck is moving making turns.. any ideas ???
see how good some you are...

My parents have an 05 Tahoe and when turning there was a slight thunk, not a bang. It was repaired under a TSB but I don't know what. Tie rod, maybe.

Unless this is some sort of trick....

yeah sounds like ball joint....jack it up and move the tire with your hands and see if they move

Not bad guess... pcfix i like the way you are going with the heads , to bad you cant do a total rebuild of the motor ..
another hint maybe 2
sometimes when going over a bump the truck will get the shakes.
Rember these trucks dont have a solid axle
not ball joint , or tie rod.. ( good guess)
this part is found on front wheel drives ...

The TSB was for the steering shaft , but not the problem..
