Basic suspension lift questions

Alright.
I ended up making my own 2 inch body lift. I made brackets to lower the fan shroud, and my friend is welding up some brackets for the front bumper. The 4x4 shifter clears the cab fine, and so does the 5spd shifter.
Do I have to add anything to the steering shaft to make it safe? It slid out a little bit to allow for the lift, but I'm thinking I may need to add something where the shafts meet up.
