Not sure I consider a Range Rover or a Land Rover a truck. I have seen an English sitcom in which one of the characters drives a Toyota pickup ... not really European, though.

There are two ways to solve this.

If you have the T-stat out, fill the block through this opening as well as the rad through the rad cap. Install the T-stat, housing and hose but leave the rad cap off. Start the engine and let it come up to to temperature (180'-192') the water pump will circulate the coolant between the rad and block. Add coolant as necessary to keep the rad full, this may take some time. You may have to squeeze the upper rad hose to remove any air pockets, you may notice some bubbles.

The second method is open the rad cap, fill the rad and start the motor. As the coolant level in the rad drops, keep filling it. Make certain the engine temp gets hot enough to open the T-stat (180'-192'), squeeze the upper rad hose to remove excess air as above.

In both ways above, after the engines are up to temp and the rads are full with no air in them, install the rad cap and fill the overflow bottle to the correct hot level.

Cheers!
