I'm going to firt see if by using the superchips to reset my tire size will change my shifting pattern.. if that doesn't work, I'll try a filter and fluid change along with adjusting the bands.. if that doesn't work.. then another rebuild/ new tranny.. depending on my funding at that point... I'll have a little money left over from the mods I want to do now... so we'll see

Firstly, as some have already pointed out; if the truck isn't paid off, put the money towards that.
If it is paid off....check into that transmission. The last thing you want to do is dump tons of money into your truck, then your tranny starts to go as you have no money left. Figure out what's going on with your transmission.
If it's in good shape, invest in a transmission + transfer case service, as well as a heavy duty cooler (if you don't already have a cooler). Then after the transmission is squared away for sure, I'd invest my money into a set of 4.10 gearing. To me, this is the ultimate performance and maintainence upgrade. It's going to give your truck true ***** around town, and it will prevent much less strain on your transmission. With 285s, 4.10s would be a very nice gear ratio.
At the end of the day, your transmission will be up to par, your truck will be a stump puller with the 4.10s, and you'll probably still have money left over to put towards the brakes and shocks.
