Umm everyone with a automatic 2nd gen Ram. It's really a 3 speed with Overdrive.

Yup, some people that don't know much about transmissions might think it is a 5 speed because of the way it "shifts". You have 1,2,D,O/D, TC Lockup. Depending on the work done to the trans the TC lockup will feel almost like another shift.

What's wrong with going from a 3rd gen to a 99? The 2nd gen's are way cooler.

Yeah, it threw me for a loop when my truck started in first and shifted four times (meaning 5 gears) after having the trans rebuild, you can watch the rpm gauge to see it shift, hear it shift, and feel it shift when TC locks up.

EDIT-- To the OP, Why do you wish for a 5 speed? It was mentioned in another thread that the final drive between the 3rd gen auto trans and our 46re final drive is a very small amount of difference. Definately less than 100rpm difference although I do not have a specific number
