Unhappy Hi all searching for days now...

Hello everyone,

I've been searching for many hours now all through the forums about how to fix my truck but everything i try dosen't seem to work, can anyone help?
I bought a 1994 dodge ram 5.2 2wd w/151,000, had a "rebuilt" motor and needs a tranny rebuild, i got it for next to nothing. New paint perfect interior and body. The bad part is it has apparently been sitting for like a year while the guy was waiting to rebuild the tranny. Anyway i bought it . Long story short - the motor turns over and seems to want to start but dosen't. It starts with gas/cleaner in throttle body, and runs for a sec.
I have
replaced the fuel pump, cleaned and empied the tank, put in 10 gallons, checked pump relay, did a tune up, replaced rotor, cap, wires and plugs. Removed and cleaned throttle body, checked tb gasket. checked resistance on injectors.
Checked the spark w/screwdriver in wire deal seems strong. Monday I'm dropping it off a the high school where my son goes and his class/teacher are going to preform some diagnostics, checking the fuel pressure with a guage and the injectors with the node tester.

If anyone can think of something else for me to check please let me know.

I will finish the thread, when i get it fixed i'll tell ya what it was.

My guess is the injectors are cloged up or the fuels not getting to them at all

since it does run for a couple of seconds, have you tried red line fuel system cleaner? works good for me. first things first, don't over look the simple things. check all your fuses, relays and harnesses. have your charging system checked? Is your belt good? I mean is it stretched out or does it have good tension? run it for codes. So how long does it run for before it shuts off. And when it turns off, does it just cut off or does it bog down. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm talking down to you but some time, if your lucky enough, it's something small that one tends to over look.

You can actually run a engine without a belt. Not recommended cause the water pump won't work. That wouldn't make a difference. I would bet on a fuel issue

just saw your new post. I would reinstall the injectors with new o rings. Then take it from there. see if there's any difference. from my understanding, gas starts to gum up around the 6 month mark. I think there's still some old gas in the fuel system.

your right bluebeast. now that I think of it, I remember I did that and nearly crapped in my pants 'cause I thought my power steering was shot. My bad. Just my occasional brain fart.

Clearly a fuel delivery problem.

Sonic cleaner (for the injectors) thread here: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...injectors.html.

Stop by Walmart or Harbor Freight and pick up a cheap ultrasonic cleaner bath. Harbor Freight sells them for what we use them for, Walmart sells them as ***elry cleaners.

Take the O-rings off the injectors and drop as many in the cleaner as will fit without touching. Cover them in injector cleaner, fuel system cleaner, even mineral spirits, just NOT water. Run each set around for about 10 mins and check them out. Be careful as the ultrasonic action will make the fluid hot so don't overdo it. Let the fluid cool a bit before continuing with each set.
