2000 Ram 1500 Sputters
My 99 is doing the same thing,,and I just had the second new motor put in my truck. Mine seems to be worse around the 60 to 65 MPH range,,,What has me the most concerned is that it shuddered like this only more violently right before the other 2 motors burned holes in a piston. Anyone want to buy 99 Ram 1500 4x4 with its 3rd motor and only 55k miles? If you figure the problem out please post so I can fix mine.
Bump on this thread.
My truck does the exact same thing as described in post #1. I have replaced the IAC and cleaned the IAC port, changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, etc.
The only thing I haven't tried is replacing the TPS. I'm hesitant to do so since the problem seemed to reappear in this thread. I haven't changed the coil, and I don't see a point in changing it since the truck runs fine in all other cases, just not under light accel. or holding a steady speed.
It's got to be some stupid little easy fix!

I sold the truck. After 3 months of ownership and hunting around to try to figure out this problem, I gave up on the s**tbox. Never again will I own a Ram, NEVER. Went back to Jeep Cherokees and couldnt be happier.
I will say however, I replaced the coil, TPS, IAC, routed the wires correctly and tripple checked all vacuum lines. Nothing solved this problem. The valley pan was recently replaced and there was no oil in the intake. These trucks have issues, I should have know since it is a Dodge after all

Put a vac gage on it and see if it is holding a good steady reading at idle, if the needle is bouncing you may have other issues ie: valves, rings, cam, valve spring, etc. do a compression and or leak down test, (on all the cylinders) just to rule out mechanical problems. check all vac lines, just to make sure you have no leaks............
I went through everything trying to solve my problem, similar to this. Turns out the plenum is to blame. I was curious after you said you sold it to see if mine had been moved around alot. Come to find out it has been sold and bought 6 times in the last 3 years, I spoke with the dealership I bought it from and even the mechanic tells me that is why it was traded in. The plenum kept going out and no body wanted to fix it. I paid 1200 for the truck so I am not at much of a loss but I can imagine your frustration Camaro. At least you went with another Chrysler product.
