Default Remove cat?

Would it be smart to remove my cat? Ive heard it restricts flow alot and you gain more horsepower when you remove it. Also ive heard that you can still pass emmisions without it.

You will almost certainly run into CEL probs if you just remove it. I suggest you replace it with a high flow cat like a Magna Flow. As far as HP goes, you might notice a little more pep in the throttle response, but no major HP gains. What you do to the rest of the exhaust is just as important and will give you slightly better results. But nothing major like I said in the HP department. Of course you will notice a bigger gain if your stock cat is clogged or starting to go bad.

pends on your state laws if you can still pass..ive removed mine,,but only temporarily as mine was bad,,and stopped up and rattling,,you can remove it,,but if i was you,,,make sure and re-insert the o2 sensors back in,,and or re-do your exhaust,,as in my case next week my set ups going to be edelbrock shrties,to an magnaflow x-pipe,,and true 2.5" piping to 2 spintech prostreets and dumped underneath...

Removing the cat was one of the worst things I did. I would suggest getting a hi flow cat instead.
