I have a 2001 5.9 4x4 ram 87000mi I just replaced almost every part in the frt end wheel bearings, u-joint ,pads rotors and calipers also tires less than 1 year old. My problem is I am getting a shake in the steering wheel around 40-55 mph and when I brake I get a constant thump at the pass frt wheel. Feels like a brake pulsation but its not. Also I get a little bit of a slow speed knock over bumps on the same side. can these be either loose shocks ,ball joints, tie rod end or tires. Any one every have this problem?
you need to check all the balljoints and bushings by hand, its hard to internet-diagnose. if it really is comming from the pass side wheel, then that rules out some stuff. but i can think of one part that would do all of those things. A loose shock bushing or trackbar bushing would make a knock, but they wouldnt pulse the wheel. a bent wheel, flange or, like you already stated, a warped rotor would pulse the wheel.
as soon as I get a chance I will rotate the tires cause my friend just drove and I sat in the passenger seat and It sound like a tire is bad. I know michellans tires sometimes can be head aches.
Track bar it is + tie rod end on the pitman. My friend wiggled the wheel as I watched the ends knock back and forth . Now all that is left is to figure out the thump. I think its the tire.
