Default towing a boat

I recently got the bug to fix up my parents boat. Im 18 and still in High school. I have a 99 Ram 1500 4X4 with a 318. Automatic Regular cab, 8' bed with a tow package. I was curious if i would have any trouble pulling a 21' ski boat that weighs between 3700 and 4000 lbs. I would be towing it around 30 miles to the nearest lake. I know to take the OD off and take it easy accelerating and on hills but other than that would i have any trouble. Transmission has been maintained and fluid, filter, and pan change 2000 miles ago. no trans trouble yet. (knock on wood)

should be able to tow it just fine, ive pulled our 18' ski boat pretty good distances without any problems, just keep an eye on those hills and engine temps. but it should pull like a champ!

+1 It's a 4x4 with tow package, you should be able to pull that and a little more using proper towing techniques

Just make sure the ball ur usin is the 1" diameter shank and is rated for 5000lbs. The hitch ball is the number one missed thing in towing. We had a dodge ram 3500 dually come in with a 10,000 lb rated hitch and a heavy duty draw bar which had a ball only rated for 2000 lbs. thinkin he could tow anything.
