Yes, the temptation to spend money on my truck is overbearing, but it can be resisted. The excitement of getting money and thinking about what to buy next is always great...but at the end of the day, there is one extra thing that is more exciting; and that's having money. My truck may be nice looking, and get looks, but if I have no money for a week, having a great looking truck does nothing for me. It doesn't fill my gas tank up, it doesn't give me money to spend on food, it doesn't give me cash to bring girls out on dates, it doesn't give me money to buy some nice clothes, it doesn't give me credibility with my bank, and it doesn't set me up for the future. Having money is much more rewarding at the end of the day, no matter how badly I want to spend it on a set of rims etc.

Not like you care about my opinion, but, that's the 2nd smartest post you've ever made.

Lol, thank you zman. And btw, I do listen to people. It's just the occasions where I do disagree generally make a big scene, but most of time I listen to what people say.

Getting extra money is always a nice thing and a great way to start earning.

1) open a savings account, and make sure when you do that you can't access it by ATM. You will be tempted to withdraw from it easily if you do. This way you actually have to go to the bank to transfer to your checking.

2) better yet, put that money in a CD or buy some treasury bills if you know you don't need it in the next 6-12 months. Do not start investing in the market yet with such a limited amount. A CD or t-bills will give you guaranteed returns on your money.
