Default Tax Returns In; The Temptation

Yesterday I received my tax returns; and I got much more back than I expected. I got a little over $2,800. Before I could even enjoy it, my parents were all over me like glue telling me not to spend it on anything for my "stupid truck" and that it serves no value wasting your money on your vehicle. So as badly as I'd like to buy a new set of rims for my truck, this will not be happening. I'm going to need to be disciplined and store it in savings and begin stacking up the cash so I can buy a house after college and probably a new vehicle five years from now. I'd like to get the leveling spacer in the front and a detail for the spring, but other than that, it's just maintenance for the truck from now on...sweet.

Listen to your folks even though you think you know everything. Readjust your withholding so the goverement is not holding onto your money. If a house after college is really important forget about the rims and all the other stuff. Your truck is to get you from point a to point b at this point. Save your money for putting improvements into your future house and repairs.

So true... Thats why I don't have more than $20 to my name at the moment. The Recent Remote start / superchips 3815 / 93 Octane to play around with the superchips sure didn't help the wallet. Live it up!

if you are spending all your money on your truck without banking some you are just plain stupid. even though i buy stuff for my truck all the time, there is still money going in the savings. and i never take money out of the savings to buy mods for the truck.

i guess you can tell i am a parent too.

Smartest thing you've ever posted. I know it's burning a hole in your pocket, as it did when I was young. Save it, and work for the other stuff you want.
