'01 Ram 1500 turn signals low 20 amp hazard fuse
I'm 500 miles away from home on a short vacation. Heading home tomorrow.
My 01 Ram 1500 suddenly blew the 20 amp hazard fuse (Female Maxi - $4.00 a pop!) that is on the fuse block under the hood. Found one burned out bulb on the rear, passenger side. Replaced it. Installed new fuse. POP!
The fuse goes as soon as the turn signals are engaged.
I can't get a new flasher, as it seems to be a dealer part. It has the part # 56007348 embossed on it. Could this be the problem?
A local independent mechanic installed a 30 amp fuse under the hood, felt the flasher & fuse as the signals & flashers "ran" and nothing popped. He said the fuse and flasher didn't get "hot".
Q is, can I drive it this way till I get home? Seems like the thing should be ok as long as I don't engage the signals too often. Don't want to burn=up the truck!
Thanks for any ideas.
