And while I'm at, here is what the truck looks like.
If you prod most dealers, they will provide a carfax report especially if they are tied in with a big brand, the little guys will be more willing to do it if you act as if you are gunna walk from the deal wiht out it, then again if the DMV catches wind that they are messin' with milage they can be shut down, so you have a good chance at making the dealer pay for it.

Take that truck to the dealer, tell them you want your money back, as well as the vehicle. Tell them if they say no you're going to the DMV.

ok, now i do.

i don't think its that big of a deal that the cluster has been changed, other than trying to determine the actual mileage. good idea on carfax, it should provide a trail of the original mileage up to some point.

if its a nice truck, and the price is at or below KBB private party, and the actual mileage is normal, i wouldn't worry about it. you can always change the cluster again. i bought one on ebay for $25.

Its a very nice truck, and I have yet to buy it, I am wanting to buy it. I forgot to post pics of it last time, so here:

And techinally changing the cluster out is illegal.

I understand this, but the instrument cluster will not represent the vehicles actual mileage. That is a HUGE no no. That's a major fine and jail time depending on where you live.

So what should I do, if I tell them, I may not be able to buy the truck, but then again who know how many millions of miles are on it.

I really want that truck, its really nice, the interior is very clean.

What say ye?

Get a carfax report on the truck. It's like $20 for unlimited carfax's for a month so don't cheap out. If the mileage on the report doesn't match the mileage on the cluster (ballpark here, will prolly be off by 20,30k miles), as in its glaringly wrong, you've got a case.

Take it to them, and tell them you want the truck, but want most of your money back. Tell them if they say no you're going to the DMV.
