Default Manual instument cluster in an Automtaic?

Hello all, I'm not new; I have another account on here, but I forgot my password. >_>

ANYWAY, the reason I am posting here is because I am looking to buy a truck, and am currently looking at an 01 Ram 1500, and when I stared it up, a yellow triangle light up in the tac area. Now I know form past experiences with these trucks that the yellow light means to shift up, but there is only one problem; the truck has an automatic tranny in it.

Is it just me, or does this sound like that the cluster was replaced?

i swapped my cluster due to a speedo malfunction. the prndl indicator was a module that just plugs in, and had a cable that went down to the column shift linkage. i don't know if a manual has that slot or not...

just be aware that the odometer mileage is stored in the cluster, so if its been swapped out, the mileage that's indicated is probably not correct. dealers and repair shops can NOT set/change the mileage in the cluster.

I want to say yes, but I can't remember.

I know, thats why I want to know if it was changed, before taking a loan, or accusing the dealership of something.

I'll go look at again today and let you know what I see.

You can carfax it and get a rough idea of the milage, and if it has the analog, read old style, odometer, it can be changed to match the milage, but it will have the look of being ****ed with.

I told the dealer that I was going to have it check, so I have it outside, and that is just what I'm about to do, here is a video of the instrument cluster.

And while I'm at, here is what the truck looks like.

That is a manual cluster. Call the place you bought it from and tell them you want it straightened out or the DMV will be your next call.
