Default replacement shocks

stock 2000 ram 1500 off road package 33in tires. Just ordered 2" coil spacers from topgunz. Trying to order skyjacker nitro shocks but unsure of size. Do i need shocks made for lifted trucks or not? Does it matter matter much to get them 0-1 or 2-3 lift? the 0-1 have 0 in the rear and the 2-3 say 1-5" in the rear. Obviously being stock i have 0 lift unless they consider the off road package to have factory lift. those are my options so what do you think would be best?

I'd try to get some for 3.5" to 4" as the offroad editions are supposed to have 1.5"-2" lift usually around 1.5" from what I've read.

Skyjacker offers 0-1 front 0 rear, 2-3 front 1-5 rear, and 4-5 front 1-5 rear. Has any replaced shocks on an off road package? Or for that matter with the 2" spacers. Surely someone has first hand experience.

Just get the shocks for a 3" lift, they will work fine.

If you are really worried about it, flex the truck out without shock and measure the lengths from mount to mount, fully collapsed and fully extended, and give them those measurements... thats how I ordered my shocks. But... 3" lift shocks will work just fine. You have a total of about 3.5" of lift.

If you just ordered from topgun give them a call back and ask them what shocks to get.
I ordered my bilstein 5100's from them over the phone and they were very helpful in
figuring out which ones to purchase.

I emailed topgunz monday and didn't hear back until last night. They said call them but from my experence with about anything, salesman and customers have different opinions. I like to hear from people who actually use the products not just the ones who sell them. The 2-3" sounds like it is the best bet. I am guessing the factory springs have some sag also, so i might be closer to 3-3.25" lift in the front with the spacers. What would you gain or lose with the 0-1 or the 4-5. Just curious what happens when you fall in the middle and have to go one way or the other. Thanks for the help.

Gain or loose? Well, if they are too short than the shock will top out before the suspension is done cycling (drooping), and if they are too long than the shock may bottom out while suspension is cycling (compressing).

My brother put 2" polly spacers on his off road ram and got 3" lift shocks to go with it. It has worked well with no problems.

Get them for the size lift you have. Pretty much all of the companies will know which part number you should get.
Also, go with a different shock. The SJ shocks are average. You can get a better shock for not much more.

I thought the Skyjacker shocks looked pretty good for the money. They have all the same features as some of the more expensive brands. Have you guys had bad luck with these shocks. I was always under the impression they made a good lift kit so i assumed the shocks were good. I drive 2 miles a day and hunt in the winter. They should do alright shouldn't they?
