Talking What is the correct cat size

hey everyone, what is the correct cat size for my truck? i've reading the latest chatter regarding the correct size for the trucks, that the ever popular magnaflo free flow cat has been giving those of us who bought one the blues. so if AIM, VW, SILVER, or my usual desperados are out there i need a part no and website to purchase one......my Visa card is in hand.

Just go to Jeg's or Summit and look it up. When you have the part# , go to ebay and look for one.

With all the trouble the Magnaflows have been having, I still suggest you buy it from a good reputable muffler shop. If you insist on buying over the internet, I think zman said that Jeg's came clean about the converter problem, so they seem to at least be honest.

Without seeing pics of your exhaust setup and knowing the pipe size, I can't give you a part number with any certainty of it being right.

I will take your card numbers though.

I have the stock 2.25 in dual pipes going into the stock cat then I have a single 2.5 in coming out. I have done some modifications from there by adding a 3" pipe all the way back to the split dual tailpipes with a flowmaster super 40 muffler in between.

If you've already done modifications to the system and know the sizes, then I don't see the problem. Go to the Magna Flow website and you"ll find what you want for sizes. Get the part # and go from there.

I'v had to replace my stock cat. did it 3 years ago with a Magnaflow high flow cat with no problems and I drive my drive hard. If you live in california be prepared to really search for one. they have stricter laws.

Had my Magnaflow on for about 10,000 miles now. Not a single problem.

It seems to be luck of the draw, perhaps. Some people never have a problem with their magnaflow for years and years, some have to replace theirs every year or two.

+1, And since there is/was a known problem, I would hope that Magna-Flow has corrected it.
