favorite parts store?
whats everyones favorite parts store? do some people just go to one place because its good? do they go because its closer? whats the deal? i personally like advance auto parts. partly because they're only like a 1.5miles away and i can walk if i absolutely have to, AND they seem to always have the parts i need or am looking for. very few times i've been told they don't have it.
lets hear it guys!

my first choice is advance auto parts. they almost always have what i need. i went to o'reilly, napa, autozone, and advance looking for straps and a u joint press to fix my u joint and advance was the only store that had the right one. They also seem like they are more willing to help you than some other stores i've been to. but that's just me.
I also like advance auto parts because when I go there thay will always help me and sometimes its hard to get help when you are 16 thay always have the parts I need thay know what thay are talking about and the prices are cheaper than other places

I use NAPA because my dad has a comercial account... they dont have the fastest service for finding parts but they do have everything under the sun... but they usually have to ship it in next day i also like autozone because its close and still have a lot of stuff
NAPA here because it has the only parts guy that know what the hell he's talking about. The others just have sale associates. I just wish O'Relliy's, AZ, or Pep Boys had as good a guy, because they're cheaper.
Napa is probably my favorite with Fishers being a not too far behind second.
I'd like to like Advance since they are close and often cheap however they just sell too much crap and I like my parts to last. If you are buying something name brand like a holley carb or just something you know that's a name brand you can't go wrong. However, it's when it comes to stuff like their brake pads, axles, ball joints, u joints, and stuff like that which doesn't seem to last for me. I used them for a while and stuff just didn't seem to last near as long as it should. I had a buddy that worked there at the time and told him that. He seemed to think I was full of it. About a year later he told me one day that I had been right because he had bought a few things for his car that had died already.
I've had good luck with Napa parts and Fishers sells name brand stuff so you can't go wrong with that. Like they sell Spicer ball joints and u joints, Raybestos brakes, just quality stuff like that. I've had good luck with Fishers and Napa. Fishers usually seems to be slightly cheaper and even slightly cheaper than Advance on some things. The Napa nearby went out of business and the Fishers nearby is still in business so that helps me go there instead of driving 15 minutes to Napa.
Overall though I think Napa is my favorite followed by Fishers. Advance and Autozone would be pretty low on the list. Actually the dealer might be my #1. They are expensive but most parts are good and last.

I have been going to Advance, b/c they are closer. I used to always be an AZ man, but the workers at the one here just seem dumb, so I don't usually go. I also like Napa...only problem is the Napa is about 5 times farther than Advance.
I have heard good things about O'Reilly as well, but they are right next to Napa. The only bad experience I have had with Advance is that they sold me the wrong tranny filter kit for my wife's car, so I had to quit mid-job and go get the right one...ticked me a little. I always buy my oil at Wally World...much cheaper. I have always said, and still believe, that if Wally World would put in a full-service parts department like Napa or something, they would kill chain auto stores...still waiting.
I would love to be able to get my oil and filter at the same place.
Oh well...wishful thinking.
