5.2 ponies
Wanting to make some horsepower with my 2000 5.2. Ive got a freeflow dual exhaust system, and a k&n aside from that to the best of my knowledge its stock.
Ive heard of a keg mod for the intake, whats that all about? what are some good ways to break 300? is that possible with a 5.2? im aiming for within 1500 dollars to spend initially, wheres a good place to start? thanks guys. im new to this engine, only had my bee for a few months, so bear with me.
and for the record i tried the search, but came up with nothing. sorry guys

well to start, i hear alot about the HS 1.7's, fastman TB's, the SCT tuner is amazing, you always have stroker kits, or superchargers, but regardless, your aim for $1500 most likely will not get you the results your looking for, it is very possible to get the 300 hp you are wanting, but its not even the slightest bit cheap
Well I can tell you what it took for me to break 300hp .....
Kenne Bell supercharger @ 6lbs
Fastman 52mm throttle body
PATC Mega Viper Transmission
Billet 1600 stall converter w/re-enforced case
CompCams double roller timing set
GMB hi-flow water pump
180* t-stat
60lb mopar injectors
Custom cut intake runners @ 45*
Hughes plenum kit
Pacesetter longtube headers
3'' 2 into 1 custom exhaust
Magnaflow Hi-flow cat
Magnaflow Muffler
Taylor thundervolt 8.2 wires
Denso Iridium plugs
SCT tuner

check plenum 1st, also see if you have death flash , im sure a 5.2 with death flash is incredibley slow, becaue my 5.9 was slow with death flash...... but you can bypass with a tuner and gain lots of power, 1.7 harland sharps and fastman and a good tune up , and highflow cat
yeah i actually just got it inspected 2 weeks ago
. i was a lil nervous cause it was the first inspection with the highflow cat on, it pass with flying colors

well for the longest time i was running a gutted cat, but its not a good idea, ill tll ya that, it accually makes less power becuase the motor had almost no backpressrue, i did it because my truck was the loudest of all the trucks that go muddin with us, but i now have the magnaflow highflow cat on there and i can now accually do burnouts...
well theres no emissions laws here. i wasnt hoping to break 300 with 1500 caps, lol im not a genius but then im not THAT dumb. i was wondering what some opinions were on the best way to spend 1500 on these motors. based on the replys, ive got a good idea of where im gonna head. for now i think ill probably do a cam, some headers, and work out some kind of unique custom CAI. thanks for the answers guys, xskylinedx i saved your mod list lol so ill know where to aim. i know a guy whos massively experienced with junkyard turbos, he figures my truck has promise.
