you must be from somewhere in washington state, as am i. but i'm from the spokane area. My heater core took a hike about two years ago and i had mechanics do it cause I really didn't have the knowledge to do it myself. the place that did it for me is in spokane called Silverstar Automotive. They did it for me for $600-650 if I remember right. They are a reliable place, real nice to deal with and they do a great job. I would recommend them to you if your close to spokane. but that price has probably changed now from two years ago. something to kick around...

Someone said that you can bypass the heater core temporarily. How can I keep my windows from fogging up in the mean time?

Try turning on the A/C ... or open your windows.
