400hp ain't gonna be cheap.

You're looking at heads, cam, TB, intake and some sort of tune to tie it all in. And then beefing up the trans to handle it.

Lots of available info on the site. Search around for each on the website and you'll find a wealth of info.

Welcome to DF!

i think im just gonna have my stock heads ported and polished, a mild cam, not sure on the TB, Headers, or exhaust yet, and open to any suggestions for anything else.

any ideas on some good tranny upgrades?

Bad idea on the heads. Stock heads kinda suck and are prone to cracking.
I can't see a mild cam getting you into the 400hp range.
I'm running a PATC mega viper transmission and am happy with it thus far.

If it were me I'd take that nice fat overseas pay, buy a magnum 360 core, tear it down, and
build a 408 with all forged components. Thats just me.

i wish i could do that, im having my diesel rebuilt, and about 6k in banks products and a twin turbo kit put in.

ok, so i dont really drive my 1500 and can afford to have it pulled apart for as long as i need to, what if i just take my block from the engine thats in it now and convert it into a 408?

how much does that tranny you got run? you have a web site on it?

thanks for the help

That diesel sounds like its going to kick @$$.
Yeah you can do that with the motor you have in the truck already. I only suggested
getting another core because they are like $100 - $150.
My trans all together (upgraded the torque converter and added a cooler w/fan) ran me
about $3500 installed.
