Ladies and Gentlemen! The LED Dash DIY Instructions!
i did not read the last few pages of the thread so i appologizing if i am answering any questions which have already been touched on. i have a ton of experience with custom led application.
first off it seems alot of people are interested in dimming the leds down. a typical "dimmer switch" also known as a riostat will not work with leds becuase they opperate on such a low milli-amperage. the only way that you can make them dimmer is through progressive resistors. i plan on doing that to mine within the next week so i will put in a write up on this thread about how that works.
also the color "filter" is very easy to remove once you are in there, just have to dissasemble the cluster itself. i will be doing that also, and will post pics.
there are also different intensity's of leds available, and different colors are brighter than others, for example a blue or white led in 8,000 mcd will just about blind you in this application, where as an 8,000 mcd purple may not even be bright enough for you.
i am going to be doing mine so that i can change the color on the fly blue, red, green. i like variety! ;-)
i do alot of wiring work like this, i have ordered a bunch of 2nd hand turn plugs for the lights. i plan on putting leds in them and will sell them off so that you all can do this mod much easier, with a guaranteed fit!

Just thought I would so you guys the pictures of my led light install lights came in the mail today I had all the twist locks from a truck that I found in the junk yard. So I put them all in when thay came. After it cooled down some I took out the cluster and changed them out. Also my dimer works on them.

Yeah the dimmer does work to a point. My headlight switch started blinking and like strobing the other night. I'm hoping it's just a loose connection. Has anybody changed out the fog light indicator yet?
