I believe the twist locks are all the same for the 2nd gen models. you will have to literally tear out the bulb as it is soldered in the socket.

Well I did this a couple of months ago and it seems they removed my bulbs. Here is the link to some that are nearly exactly like mine. Mine had 5 LEDS these have 6. You can also get the 4 LED ones. Just depends how bright your want them and how much you wanna pay. I would recommend the 6 LED. http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...%2FWLED-x6.htm

Having more forward facing led's will cause "hot spots" on the gauge cluster when illuminated for sure. (5 led is 1800 lumen out the top, 6 led is 8400. Huge difference) Stick with the OP's instructions and you will be fine. Btw, here are the bulbs you want, they did not remove them.

Yes those are the exact ones I got. But the link to the 6 LED bulbs I posted were not wide angle and thats my bad. as you can see in his link those are wide angle LEDS because they will spread out the light further, filling the gauges better. They are what you need to get WLEDs.

The fine print says it is a 35 degree beam pattern on the 6 led you linked too. the 5 led like the op posted, and I reposted has 220 degree pattern.

I'm glad to see more people doing this mod . Like pcfixerpro said, you will get hotspots if you don't get a wide angle LED. Don't sacrifice quality with quantity, quantity being number of LED's in this case...

Yeah mine turned out pretty good, I still havent gotten around to doing th AC and Headlight switch. I tried to get this in the running for modification of the month. We should all put a vote in for it. I think its one of the best mods we can do for our trucks.
