I guess we should just be thankful we have solid axels. The 3rd and 4th gen 1500s have independent front suspension, and the 4th gens have coil springs in the rear... Chevys even have independent front suspensions in their Heavy dutys...
Scary isn't it?

Yeah the only difference between the 1500, and 2500 with the 5.9 is the Dana 60 rear end (front end too in the 4x4). It even has the same 2.5" wide leafs as the 1500s. The V-10 and cummins got 3" wide leaf springs. oh and the lift blocks in the 2500s are about 2" taller.
The engine, transmission, and transfercase (in the 4x4) are all identical. Wouldn't it have been nice if they'd have just put Dana 60s in the 1500, and not bothered with a V8 option in the 2500s?

Is that fact? I've heard that before, and it seems logical, but then I've also been told the frames are the same size. I've never actually been under a 2500 to see if that's the deal or not.
I still think it would have been sweet for 1500s to have Dana 60s front and back.
