Default Switch question

Okay, with out seeing the set up, I am not sure if y'all can help but...

I have an alarm system in my truck, however the PO disable the it some how and now I need to push an override button to start the truck. It was a pressure switch, I am guessing that it works by connecting the two wires to by pass the alarm. Now this switch doese not stay engaged, i.e. it doese not click in and out of place.

A little bit ago the button part came out and I lost it and I have been having to use the end of my aux cable for my Zune to start the truck, this I must say is getting a bit annoying.

Can I buy a toggle switch to replace this so i can leave it in the engaged position while I am driving round town so I dont have to keep on using the cable end. I dont want to cut off the button that is already there as it well installed and if the other tyoe does not work i dont wanna fix what aint broke.

Can you open it up and bypass the switch? Hardwire it?

If it's a momentary switch, replace it with a momentary switch. It should take you all of 5 minutes to do.

Radio Crack has the switch. Go in and say you want a momentary SPST pushbutton.
