Hey just wondering if anyone is being affected by the 2009 flood in North Dakota.

I live in Grand Forks and we are not flooded yet. they say by next week we will be so everyone is in a hurry to sandbag. Some places around here have evacuated.

I was wondering when this was going to come around yall are getting F#@KED with rain I'm in PA.

 

I am in Iowa watching the news about North Dakota every night. I hope it isn't as bad as some are predicting.

 

Well it is bad.

Back in 1997 when we flooded, Fargo(bout an hour away) stop very little water. Now they went into a frenzy and are trying to stop as much as they can. In 97 we flooded almost to record HI. Now if they stop water and it still is continuing to snow, after 3 days of rain and melting snow and a blizzard 2 days ago with probably 6 inches of snow we are going to be @#$%ed big time from the water that come from fargo.

They were saying on the news that the river is supposed to stop going up at a new record hi. So this is going to be a FUN next few days. Ill be working 10 hours a day and probably overnight sandbagging for 7 or more hours... Ill have no time to have fun with my new tranny Until i get to drive in the flood water

 

It's pretty great. The river is supposed to crest several feet higher than ever previously recorded, and they increased the max crest this afternoon just as we were on the home stretch of getting it all buttoned down.

If there is a major failure in the dikes, we're all fu(ked.

 

We hit the highest water mark in recorded history. There was a dike breach and an evacuation, but they think they can fix it...

Scary $hit.

I have 150 .5L bottles of water, 16 gallon jugs of it, and 5 days worth of gas for the generator. Fortunately the area I'm in is high enough so the water shouldn't get here... but still not fun.

Am I the only Fargoan here?

I have been reading about this in the news...wish you all the best. I hope it doesn't get too bad up there. And just remember nathangfnd, sometimes trying to drive through flood water ends up not being so fun after all. Be safe up there, ya hosers.
