Looks like 01DodgeRam360 is calling it quits
Don't be shocked if you have a hard time selling it. Problem you have is it is a nice looking truck, probably will appeal to a younger kid, but they don't have any credit. If they do, given the way the bank would finance it, probably would end up costing them a payment similar to what you're paying over 5 years for a newer truck. Doubtful any bank would finance over 3 years on an 01 at a rate less then 8%. Easily see that ending up a payment closer to 270. Hopefully you get lucky and someone has cash from savings or tax returns.
On another note, if you're trying to get good credit, just get a credit card and use it once in awhile and pay it off. I've had ONE credit card for almost 2 years and my credit score is like 750. They're always trying to give me loans and ****, and my interest rate is really low. That would cost you less money in the long run then a car payment. Maybe get your house sooner too.
I'm not buying a truck simply for credit; I really would enjoy a newer vehicle for all of the driving I do. My truck just doesn't like long distance driving. So it will get me in a new vehicle, and build the credit too. Do you guys think $8,000 is ok? It kelly blue booked at $8,400 in excellent condition. So I made it lower than excellent. Part of selling it private is getting value for what you put into it, so I figured 8k would be right. The transmission is warrantied until March of 2011 as well.
I'd get what you can out of it. Shoot for 8k if you're in no hurry to sell it. If no one picks up on it lower the price.
Personally I'd mark it for more than I really want, that way I can let the guy feel like he's talking me down and we both end up happy.

The right price is what someone is willing to pay. I'd print out the KBB slip for the window, price it at $8,400 obo, and see what happens. How many miles are on it anyway?
One more thing, I haven't followed all your threads, why do you need a truck? If I had to drive long distances, a truck is the last thing I would want. Currently researching vehicles for my business, always used econolines because they were cheap and fine for our driving, but now that we're putting on more miles, leaning towards a car based chasis.

you put alot of money into your truck to get it right, plus bought for 7000 and now evreything paid off, thoguht you were talking about saving money, why make new payments when your truck is good or what about a hemi lol ?? good luck though our economy needs it
