Default Steering feels herky jerky.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be U-joints, but would like to make sure.

1998 Ram, 5.9l, 4x4, quad cab, 163K, 5-spd manual.

When turning (like in a parking lot) it feels like the front tires are jerking and slipping (like your in 4-wheel drive, but very subtle). On occasion it will pull to the left.

I've read another post about the U-joints going bad in the front end. My front end looks a little rough and could probably stand an overhaul. But one thing at a time.

TIA.

Yep. Exactly what happened to mine. It still turned fine but would return to center with the jerkiness. Of course, the first shop said track bar, which did nothing. Second shop said u-joints and bingo.

Make sure to get Spicers. Nice and beefy.
