Default Took some pictures of the truck today.

I took some pictures of the truck today. It needs washing and the wheels and exhaust need polishing but it's not too dirty yet.

As I said in the other thread I don't have this truck as my DD. I do drive it often just because I like it but it's not intended as my DD. Here is what it's intent is.

That and going in snow or to our place in the mountains. This is why I don't see the need for a new truck to do this.

Looks good cheif. What kind of miles you get on those BFGs? My tires are getting kinda wore out, gonna probably replace them in the next 5,000 miles or so. Looking for something different. The TrXus were good, kinda melted off but other than they did alright. Could have asked for a little more in the mud.

Well, the first set I got maybe 25k of if I was lucky. I rotated them maybe once and had bad shocks up front that caused the front ones to cup.
The second set I got a cut in the rear sidewall of a tire. It never leaked but I was afraid to put it on the front in case it did. So I never rotated them. I got about 19k. The rear still had a lot of tread left but the front two were cupped and worn down in spots.

This set I've got 26k miles on and they are wearing great. I rotated them every 3k miles this time. I've probably got half tread left still. I could see easily getting 40k out of them. I do have one lower than the rest as a friend drove it and had a rock cut the sidewall through. I used my old tire I had kept off the rear that wasn't cut from my last set. It had 19k or so on it and was still in great shape. This was right after I'd replaced all 4 of mine. Maybe a few k miles if that. So it's a little more worn than the rest but even it's still got some life left and not to the wear marks. The other 3 are probably at least half tread. I really think 40k would be easy to get out of them and maybe even more.

As long as you rotate these things every 3k miles they seem to really last and they ride and do great on road and do pretty good off road from what little off road I go. If you don't ever rotate them you can forget them lasting. Or if you have something worn out like shocks like I did.

Thanks. I think i'm gonna give them a try. I rotated my Trxus mts every 2,500 miles and they're still almost shot with about 18,000 miles on them. Or if I get a detroit in my rear diff I might actually consider a set of discover S/Ts. But I don't really like all terrains so it would be hard for me to justify buying them.

I was looking at the new BFG m/t KM2s but on the discountwheelwarehouse.com page they were $650 a piece for 285/75/16. Maybe it was a glitch or something but I dunno WTF that is all about. I can buy creepy crawlers for half that price.

I've always liked that color on a Ram, and i've always thought your truck had a good stance.

Yeah these things seem to really last as long as you rotate them. It's when you don't they wear out fast. Then it's just the front ones that cup and wear out in my experience. The rears still seem to last pretty well.

Great looking truck. That's the color I wanted when I was shopping, but had to settle for white.
