Default transmission cross member

my 99 dodge ram 1500 slt 5.9 needs a new trans cross member. what years of dodge can i use from a junk yard to replace it?

mine was bent when i bought my truck and i had to purchase one too. I think theyre all pretty similar, considering whether your 4Wd or 2WD. Just get a good look at yours and compare them... The bolt holes are different, so youll definently have to compare... not sure of the years though...goodluck

its pretty bad. it looks like it hit somthing pretty hard. the trans mount rubber is ripped in half.

I grabbed one from the dealer**** for around $300.

It's one part I'd be too lazy to get out of a junkyard. Kind of a pain to get out, especially of the vehicle has been in a collision as the frame is probably tweaked.

Haha that's exactly what mine looked like. I was fortunate though, the junk yard already had the truck disassembled so it was just sitting in the cab... got it for $100 bucks

That's good luck. Dunno if you care or not, but the replacement part for the 1500's is now the 2/3500 crossmember. It has some plates welded on the sides for extra strength.

If you look closely, the before picture is actually my neighbors Diesel. Hers has the plates that I'm talking about.

wow viper what did you hit??

i hate my tran cross member, i hit crap with in now and then on the farm

have you looked into the cross member the low rides use?? then you have more room.( just saying)

Dude i was inspecting your picture earlier and i was like, "where the hell did his exhaust pipe go?"....but i get it now....anyways yea i can tell the difference
