My cat clogged up and im sort on cash can i just gutt it out and run the truck like that if i do that will it run ok?

 

Yeah it will, your O2 sensors will go crazy and you will probaly get a CEL.

I was told once that you can unclog it for a bit by gettting it hot and wacking it with a hammer, it will lossen up some of the crap and blow it out.

If you dont live in a smog state you can get a magnaflow universal one for about $150 or so with shipping from carjunky.com

 

yeah, take your rear one out and leave it plugged up and ziptie it to your frame so it reads the exhaust is clean, your front should be fine, but remember its in the side of the cat,,,,,i wasnt thinkin about that when i gutted mine and beat the crap out of it

 

You can just cut it off and put a pipe in it's place. If you want the converter on for apearance sake put a pipe through it and put it back on. If you just hollow it out it'll create a bottleneck in your exhaust system.

bought it off ebay for 85 bucks (magnaflow si/so) 3 inch , yeah it passed no problems

 

You can get them at summit for under $100

 

what about duel in/single out cats? i'm in the same boat with money probs.
