Still can't decide if I want to use tube or 1/8" plate.

But like others have said, everything that you can buy is usually well over $1000. You can sometimes find a used one for $800+, and those are considered deals.
800 if your very luck and than add 200+ to ship that. I want 1/8 plate with shackles.

Ranch hand, buckstop, and alien patrol all make bumpers for our trucks.

Don't know if Iron Bull does or not. I'm pretty sure Road Armor went under but you might be able to get one second hand.

4wheelpart's customer service is absolutely atrocious. I'd never ever buy anything from them, nor would I ever let them work on my truck.

Maybe I'll make the first one out of plate so I can sell it to you when I want to switch to tube! LOL

From what I've read about Alien Patrol I'd stay the hell away from them too. I've read a few good things and a lot of bad.

I did a lot of research on this for my 98 Ram 1500 4x4 Sport the past few months. The REPUTABLE places that I found were

Tough Country
Ranch Hand
Buckstop

I my case I did not go with Tough Country as they swore up and down the wall that their REPLACEMENT bumpers would not fit a sport model (I still think they are full of crap). I ended up going with Tough Country and have been very happy. Mine ended up running ~$1650 shipped for the model and accessories I purchased. You can see it at the link below.

Why in the world would they lie to you? I seriously doubt they'd turn away business.

No kidding... usually the guys who have never fabricated a thing in their life are the ones who want custom things for next to nothing.

It was not so much that they said it was not compatible but the fact that they could not explain why. To the best of my knowledge once you have the old front bumper off there is no difference between a standard and sport edition. The fact that TC said that there is no difference AND the new bumper fits great makes me suspect that RH was wrong. Regardless, on a specialty product like that from a smaller company I would expect them to be able to explain why it is not compatible.
