Question 5spd Tranny....

Ok i see alot of you guys have problems with the auto tranny going bad.
My 5spd seems pretty firm right now....lil problem with they syncronizers in between 1st and 2nd gears....but that may just be me driving it a lil too hard too.....

You guys got any feedback on the quality of the 5spd or any problems i should look out for in the future after i put the new transfer case in????

Oh i changed the color to be girly....

Being a medium duty transmission I'd say as long as you don't highly modify the engine
you should have no problems with it. Thats not from experience with the nv3500 thats
an educated guess based on what I've read.

Not me. I've really come to like autos since I dropped an aftermarket trans in.
Plus: its easier for my girl to sit in the middle so I can put an arm around her

wow I'm not gonna comment on that lol

I love 5 speeds in cars. I have always liked autos in my trucks though. Some people say a stick in a 4x4 is better. the one stick i drove in the snow kept sliding all over the place.

Once I get a sub under the center seat, girlfriend might want to sit next to me more...

Never heard anyone have any issues with a manual outside of the obvious clutch repair.

In a heavy vehicle, the auto is supposed to help with loose sand ... instant shifts keep power on the wheels at all times. Have no real opinion though ... like 'em both.
