Default Will a third generation Dodge Ram roll bar fit on a second generation Ram?

My question is basically the thread topic, I'm looking at this roll bar for my truck but the problem is I cant find one for a 2nd generation Dodge.

I've seen lots for third generations, but I never thought that the width of the bed between 2nd and 3rd generations would change. In fact I thought roll bars were more 'universal' and I can fit them on any full-size truck.

Does anyone know if the dimensions changed, or can I just fit a 3rd generation roll bar on my 2nd generation truck?

heres the link if anyone would like to see it...

You can build your own on this site but they are very expensive. for mine i wanted 3 bars around and 2 going down nd it would have been like $2500

didnt look at what year your truck was but im sure its the same. mines a 99 and there is a page that tells you what to order

The product is not to be used as a roll bar it is for looks only!!!

yeah, I want mine for looks too..... I've looked at Go Rhino, they got some good stuff but also REALLY expensive.

But I dunno, I think the rollbar might fit, just wanna make sure I dont use money on something that won't fit.

From what I've read, they changed the dimensions slightly. The 03+ Rams have slightly larger boxes (or if you prefer the non-midwestern term, beds), but by what I've read so far, just by a few fractions of an inch.

I'd talk to a guy who's owned both a 2nd gen and a 3rd gen and get their opinion. I'd visit the 3rd gen section and ask.

I dont think a roll bar would look too good with the clip-on window antlers...

Default Want to drop 2009 bed on my 2001 1500 4x4

I want to drop a 2009 Dodge 1500 4x4 bed on my 2001 Dodge 1500 4x4. Both are short beds. What I need to know before I sink the $1500 into the bed is will it fit or with minimal customization will it fit? Does anyone know? ANYONE? What secs would I research to find out for sure? Would a dodge dealership tell me?

From what I heard the mounting is different between the 3rd gen and 2nd gen beds. You would have to drill into your frame to make is work, not a good idea in my opinion. Not positive though thats just what i heard. I would ask a body shop they would probably be able to give you a better answer.
