You don't have to pull the head, and as far as making some kind of adapter for a vacuum cleaner, all I can say is use your imagination. I also assume you know to pull the heat tube that surrounds the plug.
no i was actually gonna ask how to pull that. so i just chase the threads with the same size tap put the heli coil in suck out shavings and put the plug back in right. also can i take the plug back out or should i go ahead and replace the plugs?
how do i get the heat shield from around the plug?
Just use a heater hose clamp. Tighten it around the shield and it will come right out. Don't need to maul anything.
With the heli-coil, you are going to have to drill out the stripped spark plug hole to the next size and retap it for the coil. You could probably do it with the head on, but I would advise against it. You will generate a lot of chips and metal shavings and you won't be able to get all of them out with the head on.
