Stereo question
Have a question concerning amp installation. 2000 Ram factory stereo, would like to keep the factory deck and install my amp and sub. Where would I hook up the remote wire from the amp? Is there an converter to run the RCA jacks? I was told I can run an line out converter and power everything through my 6x9's, any truth to this? As far as I know my truck doesn't have the infinity system. I have hooked up many amps and subs for my son, but never on a factory deck, any help would be greatly appreciated.
As far as the remote wire goes, you could just tap it into the stock wiring harness for the radio. I would hook it up to the accessory power wire that only has power when the ignition is on. If you were to do it this way then whenever the radio turned on the amp would turn on too.
As far as a converter they make an adapter that hooks up to your stock speaker wires and goes to a "high output" adapter plug that a lot of amps have on them for an input.
