Default Exhaust Question

I need (want) a new muffler and want to put in a Super 44. My question is will I lose that 44 growl and tone if I dump it before the rear axle? I would put a tip on it as well. Would i be better off just using the stock tailpipe? I really want that "slappy" tone, but want to spend as little as possible and get rid of as much of the stock exhaust as i can.

i run a super 40 and it sounded ok but after installed my 22'' long with a 4" outlet stainless steel tailpipe tips it really sounded great. of course you can always install the original 40 and be done with it.

I took my muffler off a couple days ago. It actually sounds pretty good, and it's not THAT much louder than my flowmaster 40 was since I still have a catalytic converter. It's got a good slappy sound when you romp on it.

Ya I had a cherrybomb extreme on my 3.1 liter monte carlo before I got joes truck. It was very aggresive! I got a super 40 now with my 5.9 and its raspy, I might get the super 44 or a cherrybomb extreme Im not sure.

Okay, now you've got me thinking. Which do I go with, the Super 44 or the Cherry Bomb Extreme?
