Thats what I figured, especially when the difference is less then $10, but everyone has their own opinion, so I threw them both up there.

I think I got mine at Hughesengines.com for $38 +shipping IIRC. But note that I have the 2002 style square plug on my 2001. Gotta be careful with those 2001 models.

Still have emissions tests in the high population counties in Texas. I haven't yet found a shop I can "buy" a sticker from.

I have ... well, the wife has, anyway.

Doesn't matter though ... they haven't probed the pipe in a long time ... I think the new regs only call for a CEL check and a code pull. You could probably gut your cat and put a sim in it. But they also have monitoring stations randomly setup around the metroplex. Of course, they're right on the on-ramps where you're accelerating.

Interesting. Maybe they went to four different sensors in the 3rd Gens, and used some of those sensors for the last 2nd Gens, as well as California 2nd Gens.

EDIT: Hughes evidently uses NTK sensors. Their part number for the appropriate "normal" round connector type sensor is HUG 23151, same as the NTK's part number. And its $50.

well, i stopped by advanced just to see what brand of o2 sensor they carry, and they have bosch. advsnced was on my way.he tried to tell me that i have 4 o2 sensors. i was like no i donnt. so i didnt get one. i really wasnt planning on it anyway after he told me bosch. i want to get the ntk like suggested. he had me worried so i rolled under the truck again thinking maybe i missed the other 2,and nope. i only have 2. i am gonna get the ntk one orderd. thanks again guys.

i also banged on my cat and it had a very slight rattle to it. so its about time to have it replaced too. i donnt have emissions here so i think i might just have it gutted.

my question is am i gonns get a cel with gutting my cat? it is one of those cats that is made right into the y pipe. and it is pretty expensive to replace. i donnt want a cel on. if you guys think i will i will just have to order the right cat.

See they say we have 4 o2's but we only have 2. I looked at my truck the other day to check as well.

i have checked atleast 10 different sights and they all say that we have 4 o2 sensors. none of them say we have only 2. they donnt even give that option. just doesnt make sense. i am going to take mine out and check the plug in style just to make sure i get the right one.

jason, how did you figure out the right one?

Trial and error.

First, they gave me a Bosch sensor that was to short. Do not get Bosch number 13122. (I later found 13100 online. Same round connector, but if you look at some sites that have descriptions, the 13100 has something like an 18" length, where as the 13122 is only 14" or something.)

Second, they gave me a square connector NTK (2nd Gen Cali/3rd Gen type). I think it was 23139. Don't get that one unless you have the square connector. If you do have a square connector, take a picture with a camera or camera phone and take that into the parts store with you. There are two types of square connectors, according to Summit... 23138 and 23139. Both have similar but slightly different square connectors. Make sure you get the right one using that camera phone picture, unless you don't care about another possible trip to the store to do an exchange later if ya get the wrong one.

Third time, I got the right one. NTK 23151. The correct round plug, the correct length, fits nicely. If you have the round plug, this is the sensor you need.
