Default got some new exhaust put on my 99 5.9L today

it sounds fn amazing .. true dual glasspacks with hi flow cats... 4 in tips comin out at 45*.. only thing is i aske for cherry bomb and what i got is like greyish glasspack. im not complainain cuz it sounds awesome. nice crackle. loud. everything perfect tone. if it sounds as good outside as it does inside its the nicest soundin legal exhaust for a truck in the area i live. but the post is about wht type of glasspacks i may have

im thinkin theyr thrush.?

also i was thinkin bout headers as a add on later....for power/performance/sound
what would be the best brand to get? and should i get LT's or shorties. i really dont understand the difference between the two

thanks

My truck had what I thought were glasspacks on it when I got it they were also grayiesh colored. To my surprised when I took them off they were not 'straight through'. I had never seen glasspacked shaped mufflers that you could'nt see through, they had a baffle in them. But now it has has a couple of cherry bombs on it( I'm sure the people next door love me when I leave for work at 3:00am), and converters must have been an option on my truck because I don't seem to have any. I am also considering some headers, but afraid to touch the manifold bolts.

Great info on this board!!

i bought the Pace Setter shoty headers and I noticed some gains, I would have bought the Edelbrock brand but cost was the major determining factor here. So far no worries with the Pace Setters. They went on in under an hr.

Could have been, all I can tell you they were a little wider then cherry bombs once I had them off and side by side. Someone had welded a bracket at the end of one and had rusted through, so I just took them off and put the cherry bombs on. The sound of them wasn't that bad, I would say they had a louder pitch then some turbo mufflers. But maybe that could be because I don't run any converter's either. Definetly nothing that would get you pulled over for. Or have to turn the radio up
