Lightbulb Odd occurences?

Ok, I have a friend that is a retired Dodge salesman, and he and I were talking about some of the problems that dealers were having with the 2nd gen rams when they were being sold.
I had never heard of this, and a search tells me that it hasn't been brought up on here.
For those of you that have a hood shield (bug deflector), does your driver's side mirror shake when you are driving down the road?
I had never really paid any attention to it, but when I first got my truck, the driver's side mirror shook really really bad, but when I took the thing apart and tightened all the screws in it and the shake was reduced.

My friend was telling me that Dodge caught hell on this ordeal, and they couldn't figure out what was causing this mirror shake to occur. In the end they attributed it to the bug guards on the hood.

I noticed that this is true since when I had my grill off painting it, my mirror shake went away. (the particular shield I have attaches to the grill)

So I was just wondering who else has this issue?

I read about this issue years ago ... shortly after I got my truck. It took them months to figure it out. Never had one myself though.

I was just wondering what the hell was going on, and I still cant see that that little piece of plastic could cause this.
I guess when the 2nd Gen trucks were on the lots, dealers were going nuts trying to figure out what was causing this issue. I always thought that the mirror had been hit really hard, and that was what was causing the shaking.

I believe the consensus was airflow ... the deflector aimed a column of air directly at the mirror causing buffeting.

Yea something along those lines. I guess no one else will admit that they have this issue.
