Default was going 2 trade in my 98 2500

my pt has seen its better days 133,000 miles powersteering is shot and the cooling fan wont turn on. the wife dont want to put any money in to the pt. so we went and got a 2007 dodge caliber 5 speed.
we thought a 98 dodge 5.9L with 107,000 nice shape fastman 52mm k&n cold air intake would be a good trade say 5g or so LOL they said 2g for it. I said nope. Ill keep my truck. KBB says about 6g private party.

youd be better off selling it privately. as long as you have time, you will find the right buyer

I know how it feels. My wife and I went to trade in her 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 once, back when we were thinking of getting her a brand new Kia Spectra. I did my research, private party value was about $10,000.

They offered me about $5000 for it. My wife and walked out five minutes later, ignored their phone calls. Negotiation is one thing, low-balling is another.

I agree with raminator, hold out for the right buyer. Advertise... craigslist, Autotrader.com, newspapers, etc.
