Default What does everyone think my truck is worth?

Going to sell it, trying to get an idea of what it will actually go for, I know im probably not gunna get what im asking right now (7000 $) unless I find someone with deep pockets that really wants mine.

99 dodge 1500 sport, 318, fresh 4.56 gears, nice new mickey thompson mtz 33x12.50, dick cepek rims, bilstein 5100 shocks, brand new ball joints, new hub... other few little things.
Really nice truck in very good shape with only 105,000 mi. my tranny is still the origional but shifts great still.

Luckily in michigan there is tons of offroading and the sand dunes. I few people who know thier **** told me if I take it to the dunes stick a for sale sign on it and it would be gone the first day.

An informed buyer is not going to give you anything more than $5,000 for it in your market. Without the wheels/tires your looking at $3,500.

i think the KBB private party numbers above ^^^ are a little high for the average truck, but not out of line for an exceptionally clean, sharp looking truck, thats not all "goobered up" as someone (neon) recently called it. kbb tends to inflate lower mileage vehicles a little too much. your 105k is low.
KBB(ga.) exc=6000, good=5600, fair=5200

however, i think you've got one of the best looking trucks i've ever seen, and if you can just shop it to the right person, i think you can get 7000 for it, maybe even more. not sure where you live, but list it out on craigslist, autotrader, ebay(w/reserve), local highways and byways, sand dunes, high schools (especially).

just keep in mind that anyone that buys a nice looking truck from a dealer will pay 7000 or more, so be patient and politely decline lower offers. i'd list it at 7500 and than quickly take 7000 from anyone who wants to dicker.

Kbb are high..always are!

nada is another site I use to price vehicles...they actually give you what the insurance company would give if something happens...I find the between price and figure it out that way.

well shoot I just checked that site for ya (http://www.nadaguides.com) and they don't list a V6 Dodge Ram...they only have a Dakota for V6...

Oh well....V8 can use that site! :P...wait...I missed the option to change the engine to 6 cyc! It does list it at: $7000 retail or $5000 trade in...

go to this link to check it out: http://www.nadaguides.com/usedcars.a...a=-1&mi=105000

I did put in alloy wheels and sport package and 4wd...correct?

About $4500, MAYBE $5000. Trucks aren't worth anything, and I doubt they ever will be again.

Nice looking truck, but short box single cabs don't go for much around here. With the rims and such, probably around 5k.

Yea in this economy they arnt worth much. I will take it up to the dunes try to sell it up there, there is tons of people up there with rediculously deep pockets...

My reason for selling is... Its just not doing what I want well enough. I NEED a truck, but really dont need anything more than just a dakota or somthing. Ive wheeled it, and wheeled it hard... constantly breaking things. Ive dumped over 1500 dollars into fixing broken parts from wheeling and it just cant take my abuse, and also being my daily driver its just not good.
I broke another hub last night wheeling, cant drive it now waiting on the new hub to get here. My entire drivetrain seems fairly solid (knock on wood) but I know these trucks will spit their tranny early and I dont think it will go more than 120k and I dont want to fix that.... Basically the truck seems like its falling apart (allthough its really not) its just not what I want any more.

Looking into replacing it with a 2000-2005 or so GM 1500. as the GMs are better trucks for what I will use it for.

That is a nice truck, I have alway's said when selling it is about finding the right buyer. Look a what you have and what market that it would sell in. In your case a 21 or under crowd is where I would be advertising. 7000 is kinda high and might turn away some buyers but the good thing about a high price is if you get someone interested then your good. You have to be careful of pricing high then making price cut after price cut. I know people like me will see that and say, "I will wait he obviously will keep reducing the price" After I waited you out for a couple of weeks and you start to get anxious about selling I would come in and start negotiating. I am not trying to rip you off but this is just how I do it you have to keep in mind everyone wants to sell high and buy low. What I am trying to say is check every site. NADA and KBB make sure you use Private party then go to Craisglist and Autotrader and see what trucks like yours are being listed for, once you have done that price accordingly. A good starting price is always the best and don't be afraid to send away the lowballers. Just price right and stick to the price and you'll be fine. Keep in mind that in todays economy it takes a lot longer to sell anything so don't get anxious if it doesn't sell right away.
