Now that some have read about my Distributor cap chaos I need to know something. I am going to change the plug wires this weekend. I know that there is a TSB on wire routing up to a 99 I believe. I have an 01 do I have to follow the exact route that they are now or Is it alright for me just to make sure that they dont run parallel but instead cross over one another.
If I have to follow a specific route could someone send me a link to that TSB.
Any input would be appreciated. Oh buy the way I purchased Autolite Proffessional Series plug wires, they are 7mm. I figured they had to be decent as they have a lifetime warranty, some had 90 days and others had 1 year.

Those are the plug wires I use. Never had an issue.
I also didn't route my wires per the TSB, never had an issue. I just routed them the other day trying to solve an issue with my Flashpaq tuner, didn't help.
I guess I'd do it anyway, because it definitely won't hurt anything.

edit - too slow. gotta be quick around here.
here's all TSB's. http://dodgeram.info/
i think this one is the plug wires.

my opinion is that any good, lifetime warranty plug wires are good enough.
i didn't do all this convoluted wiring, but i did put on new wires and made sure that the looms covered the wires all the way back to the dist cap.

I just routed mine so they crossed at a right angle at the cylinders, covered the whole wire with loom, and made sure they did not touch each other at any point before they got to the plugs, and it's all good.
I used the Napa Belden wire set. The idle is much smoother than the cheapies from Advance that I had on before (for about 5000 miles) then tossed in favor of these.

As you can see from the pictures I just sort of did whatever when i put new wires on. My main concern being keeping them off the exhaust manifold.
I've had zero problems. Maybe I'll re-route them someday if I get bored, but generally I say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
