Can you take 1997 v10 motor 2500 and trans and put it in a 2500 v8 that’s the same year?

If your V-8 is blessed with a tow package, you may have some of this stuff already. Compare differentials, drive shaft lengths and yoke sizes. The shroud, fan and radiator all fit in the same space, but the V-10 is of higher capacity, bigger hoses, overflow jug located on the right fender. Compare throttle cable and kickdown. If you have access to the donor truck you want the bigger alternator, A/C condenser and lines, trans cooler lines, and the cooler itself, it sets off to the battery side instead of adding it's heat to the stream flowing through the radiator. Inlet filter and pipe for the air injection. I'd find a parts catalog and see if I could decide if the front springs were the same. Sounds interesting, good luck.
