I finished! Turned out great. Made a removable front panel so I can add switches and other things later on. It's painted with the same paint used to smoke out headlights, and a light I mounted in the back (the stock one) slightly glows through it. Underneath all of that, is a can holder built to accomodate about 5 Monster cans. Other things will be added later!

Looks good, where did you find grey vinyl? Thought I'd need some for my box project, but couldn't find any. Ultimately didn't need it though.

Like the console. Already kicking around if I want to build a full console down the line. Think it would be cool to put a double din in the panel you have built for future switches.

Thanks alot. I got the vinyl from Joanns Fabric Store. It was around $16 a yard. I bought 2 1/2 yards to cover this and my sub box. This turned out a lot better than my sub though. Whats a din?

Oh yea, I got the idea to build one from his pictures. I incorporated his main design into mine. Seems to work well. I saw somebody else with the same design too, but he had some drink holder that attached to the armrest console, giving him that bottom flat piece for random storage.

Din is just the term for deck size (height). Dodge's have a 1.5 din, regular aftermarket radios are 1.0 din. When you get into the bigger touch screens/dvds, they are called double din. Tried to figure out a way to put one in my dash, but once I saw pics, thought it looked horrible. To do something like what you did, and have it in that angle, would be then next best place for it, in my opinion.

Probably don't need a dvd player in it anyway, just would have been different.

That would be freakin' sick if I could do that. If the whole can holder gets old and boring, I may do that
