Default OS problem?

My 96 1500 Ram was running fine till yesterday, when it began to run very rough. Mash on the gas, and begins to vibrate. Let off the gas, and it smooths out. Thought it might be water in the gas, so put in some dry gas--no change. The check engine light came on, and was told I have an os problem. Will that cause the engine to run that rough? How do I get to the sensor to fix the problem?

Yes. I had thought it might be the plugs, but a fellow worker said it sounded like the oxygen sensor probably needed a good cleaning.

Or get a Mac.

If it is an O2 problem, find some place that sells NTK (made by NGK) sensors and get an upstream sensor from them. Verify before you leave that the plug is round (unless you have a Cali truck) and not square.

Damn I'm too slow for the computer jokes. I did like the Mac making it worse comment though lol.

Yeah I would just get a new one. I have never heard of people cleaning them.

OR you have a misfire. Pull the codes and see what ya get. Maybe you have one of the many Ram issues (ie:cracked head, bad plenum gasket)
